For $150 you can become a licensed dead animal hauler in Texas.

You have to pay to become licensed to haul away a dead animal? Is this some sort of privilege or something?

I don’t know about Texas, but in Wisconsin, people get paid to haul off dead livestock.

Its because the dead animals need to be properly disposed of. If they let any joe schmoe do it, then there’d be dead things under the rug and stuff… seeping into ground water or something.
By licensing, they can tell those people where to do it and then give a fine to those that don’t play by the rules. A large one.

But apparently it requires no training. So if you’ve got $150 and some form of conveyance you can start up a nice little business.
