I beg to differ. As far as geography and regional thought patterns go it may not be part of "New England" but the name itself implies that it should be. York being a town in England, the new York would be part of the new England if it really was a new England. Of course if you go back to the original name of the settlement you have New Amsterdam, which was in no way related to England. So on third thought, maybe Ted is right.

Devin would lead, right? You don't seem to have much confidence in your gear placement, and I don't want to die.

The Climbs we climbed:
Fingerlocks or Cedarbox (5.5 not 5.7)
Hyjeks Horror(5.8)
Mike led Northern Pillar(5.2)...good job
V-3(5.7)
Kens Crack(5.7)f

The reason that I seem to set crack climbs all the time isn't because I like stumping MikeD, its because I like leading, and cracks give you plenty of options for gear, and I am a sissy when it comes to run-outs.

I am sad that you missed this adventure as well.

who knows? Maybe we'll get another day for climbing at the gunks before 2007 comes to a close.

I'm incredibly sad to have missed this adventure :-( To make matters worse, the experiments I stayed behind to do didn't really work. The pictures are awesome. I'm glad you guys had an awesome time, rock on!

Pretty pictures. I would only attempt to climb the easy stuff on a dare, or for a really good reward. You guys are awesome.

Hey! I've climbed some part of the shawgunks. I don't really remember where, because it was in 10th grade, but I used to live in orange county, NY (at West Point) so it would make sense that we went to some point of the shawgunks to rock climb, and these pictures look very familiar. Obviously we didn't do anything super difficult but I did get to the top and I got to rappel down.
