Finally Friday
CT got biffed with snow this morning. Traffic was obnoxious.
While I sat in my car waiting for the Volvo in front of me to inch forward, I heard a piece on NPR about the efforts of Mississippi to improve its image. Apparently Mississippi is known for its poor education system, high poverty rates, and general uninspiring brilliance. Mississippi is ticked off! So the state is working to improve its image amongst the more classy states with an aggressive advertising campaign that informs the public that yes, there’s more to Mississippi than tractor pulls, hog callin’, and monster trucks.
If the cities in Mississippi are considered so deplorable, where are the best places to live? Well, it turns out Money Magazine put together a top ten list (2006).
1. Fort Collins, CO
2. Napervillie, IL
3. SugarLand, TX
4. Columbia, MD
5. Cary, NC
6. Overland Park, KS
7. Scottsdale, AZ
8. Boise, ID
9. Fairfield, CT
10. Eden Prairie, MN
So there you have it.
