FLAG DAY

June 14th: Flag Day.
a poem by mike d.

13 stripes and lots of stars
I think it’s made of polyester
it’s flown by southern red necks
and also by corporate investers
yes, our flag’s a colorful one
to that I proudly say “Amen!”
but if you’re traveling overseas
best to pretend you’re Canadian.

That oth_r vow_l g_ts so much lov_ from writ_rs and po_ts, Mik_ D! I don’t like b_ing snubb_d and r_plac_d by som_thing inf_rior. Sigh, such is the life of being the third most popular vow_l.

Mr. “O”,

I wish to say how sorry I am that I did not bring you, Mr. O, into play for that last word in row four. I hand to you my most truthful apology.

It will not occur again,
mik_ d.
