I have had the same dream about the Moon. So have many other people. We are not from the States. You should look for other interpretations that the ones in the comments above.

Yeah, I agree, this is definitely Star Wars-esque. Kurt's right, this exact same scene happened in the book, and it
was also to blame to the aliens. Jerks. Did a famous wookie also die in your dreams?

Alicia, blood and hair are organic - primal even. So, I think the dream about the weird people eating this disgusting combination signifies that you have something repulsive to you that's part of your life experience - this could be a response elicited from an outside event, an emotion, or an urge, but whatever it is, it seems to be something you like to distance yourself from (as the people eating this combo are "weird"). Further, it's part of a cycle where it surfaces and then is returned to the body or the subconcious (hair/blood mixed, then eaten), and this being an intact cycle, you needn't go beyond recognizing its there. Just acknowledging it allows for it to be repressed in a healthy way.

The boots dream represents freedom, happiness, and agency. You picked out the boots, there were options, and you were with your friend. The Sale signifies open doors to possibility.

My interpretation (ph.d anticipated : Never)

You ate a bad burrito the night before. Don't eat bad burritos. Only eat good ones.
 You should be ok.

 The End.

My interpretation (ph.d anticipated in 2008).

You begin in a stadium, which suggests that you are feeling as though you are a spectator, outside of the action. You are, however, with your family, suggesting that your connection to them is real, and that you have an active role in that relationship. That you don't know what you'll be seeing offers further evidence that you are not feeling empowered and knowledgable about what is happening outside of your immediate relationships.

The next vivid image suggests a further loss of control: gravity, one thing we can count on, is lost. The stadium wherein you are a spectator, an observer rather than an agent, reveals itself as your place of work. Perhaps you are not operating with a sense of agency nor true authenticity at your workplace.

The aliens represent a threat, possibly one that is disguised (as the masks imply) but that which you can recognize as a threat anyway (ie you knew the aliens were aliens even when they were masked).

While the fight is happening, you are not personally engaged, but still have what seems to be an observer role. The fight does not take on meaning until the moon crashes into earth. This signifies that conflict in the workplace or in certain areas of your life does not take on relevance until it breaks through something serious. On one hand, this could mean you have good perspective about the tension around you. Alternatively, it could mean that you internalize much of the conflict around you until it explodes and shakes your whole experience.

Note that even though the earth has been blown up by the moon, you are still alive with your family ("the chunk that we were on"). This offers evidence that you see yourself as resilient, that you take your relationships as fundamental to your self-identity, and that ultimately you are unaffected by that conflict which happens around you. The observer role serves to protect you, leading to a lack of emotional involvement, and a 'go with the flow' attitude. Indeed, you are unemotionally involved in the destruction of the earth to the extent that you are scientifically curious as to why the atmosphere hadn't desolved. Science, in this form, signifies a departure from the emotional.

The end.

Okay, with our powers combined, we might be able to make this work.

If you sketch out the scene and I will paint it as the epic masterpiece that it sounds like.

It'll be like Americanada but bigger!

if you read the book Vector Prime, a New Jedi Order Star Wars book there is an amazing description of the moon vs planet battle. So I, and I am assuming Timothy Baird will agree with me on this one, am amazied by your dream.
