mike d’s solo work

February 26th, 2005 by mike d. in RockStar, The Page

currently eating: sadly nothing

I have uploaded a few new tunes that I put together. You can find them in the ROCKSTAR section. Please note, as all recording and editing was done in Windows Sound Recorder… the levels aren’t all that hot.

enjoy!

What is this magical ‘GarageBand’?

I am intrigued.

I think you should forgo garage band and hone your windows sound recorder skills, much the same way as you have with MSPaint

oh man…
MikeD, if you can’t live with making the jump from Paint to Photoshop, I think the jump from Sound Recorder to GarageBand might blow your top.

Though Shamus makes a valid point… Garageband is a simple little multi-track recording program that comes with Apple OS X. Lets you record yourself, put effects on each track, add drum beats, and a ton more.

i actually use it primarily as a guitar amp so I don’t have to buy one, though i’ve made a few songs just out of the loops included as well.

Don’t do it MikeD!! It is a Mac applet. And as we all know Macintosh computers are the bane of Microsoft and all things associated with it, which includes MSPaint.

Michael, you know all about GarageBand. It’s that program that Diesel and I were using to lay down some phat beats. Remeber? You were all like, “No, the fade out needs to come BEFORE the introduction of the latin-style piano.”

Wow, I had no idea Diesel’s prgram was GarageBand. Interesting.

I have to say that it seemed a bit too ‘Mac’ and ‘technological’ for me. I’d be willing to give it a try, but I think that Seamus and Jon are going to be on the money with their predictions. When it comes down to it, I’m a Windows Sound Recorder kind of guy.

MSPAINT FOR LIFE!

But, like I said, I’d be willing to give it a shot.

Well, the thing being… MSPaint is an awesome application of unequaled bitmap prowess. Windows Sound Recorder is complete crap. This is the cheap way to do multi-track recording. Anywho, i’m glad your willing to try and i will talk to Ryan to set it all up! I just wish I had the awesome hardware to do simultaneous multiple-track recording, but I don’t.

Anyway, I say use the technology that will make you sound the best! And Kurt, you’re an idiot for calling it an Applet. Moron.
